Why Is Working Out Good For You?
There is an endless amount of benefits from working out and participating in physical activity. When I began my fitness journey in 2012, I was taken aback by how many ways exercise began to improve so many aspects of my everyday life. It was surreal! I went from feeling worthless and disappointed in myself, to becoming the positive and happy person I am today. That’s why I cannot stress this enough!
So I’m going to list some of the reasons why working out is good for you, and I’ve experienced these all through my fitness journey so far.
Exercise makes you happier.
Physical activity is known to have a profound effect on your mood. As you exercise, your body releases endorphins and these happy chemicals trigger a positive feeling in the body. We’ve all felt that post-workout satisfaction, right? That’s why! It’s so effective that it’s been known to reduce stress and feelings of anxiety and depression.
Exercise improves your body.
Regular physical activity can have huge benefits on your health and body as a whole.
Here are a few specific benefits:
- Increases your energy levels
- Lowers blood pressure
- Improves muscle town and strength
- Increases flexibility and balance
- Helps to maintain a healthy weight and physique
- Strengthens bones
Exercise benefits the brain.
Exercise is known to improve your brain power as it creates more brain cells and connections. Simple things such as improving your memory and attention, boosting your concentration and mental awareness and enhances your cognitive function.
Exercise makes you feel confident.
With its ability to reduce anxiety, it’s no surprise that exercise can help to boost your self-esteem. Once you start working out and taking care of yourself, you’re sure to feel a lot more confident in yourself. Flaunt it ladies!
