6 Reasons Why Exercising With A Friend Is Better
Exercising is great! It’s even better when you’re doing it with a friend. Nothing is better than going to the gym or going outdoors with your partner in crime and working out together to achieve results. Need more reasons? Check out my six reasons why exercising with a friend is better!
It’s fun!
Exercising, in general, is fun (for me) and a great love of mine. But to make exercising stick and become a long-term healthy habit, doing it with a friend can make it more enjoyable and less of a chore. You can both sign up for classes together and try new things that you wouldn’t normally consider – it’s a confidence builder. Make it even more fun by wearing matching outfits, and the time will fly by! Plus, you wouldn’t play a game of volleyball alone?
Accountability and commitment
There’s less chance for failure. When you’ve got someone counting on you to turn up to a session, you are less likely to cancel on them. And that goes both ways, your friend is less likely to cancel on you, as you both don’t want to disappoint each other. Having a solid plan means you’re making time for exercise, and you’ll both follow through.
Motivation and support
Let your best friend and partner in crime become your own personal trainer and cheerleader. When you’re thinking of giving up, they can give you encouragement with a simple “you can do this” and you’ll find what you need to push through those last few reps. You’ll be thankful afterwards!
Healthy Competition
There’s nothing wrong with a little healthy competition. It pushes you and makes you work harder. You can both keep pushing each other to the limit!
Catch up
The treadmill, bike or stretches provide a great time to catch up on all the goss for the day! Even if you’ve had a bad day, rant and vent to your friend while burning serious calories.
Celebrate your success
After sweating it out at the gym, nothing better than to celebrate your success with whatever way suits you. Whether it’s a glass of wine or going shopping to buy a new outfit to show off the new leaner and fitter body. After achieving a goal, it gives you both determination to keep going and achieve more!
Why do you find working out with a friend better or do you prefer working out alone?
